Director’s Message

We are excited to share the 2024 annual report and highlights of the year from the Black River Falls Public Library.

In 2024, the Winding Rivers Library system implemented a new library cataloging system. Staff attended trainings and worked diligently to learn the new catalog system. There continues to be catalog updates and learning opportunities. Overall, it is an easier catalog to use.

The library would like to extend its appreciation to Jackson County board for moving to 100% reimbursement for Jackson County libraries. Our patrons appreciate the technology available at our library, such as computers, laptops, hotspots, battery testers, car readers, and a phone charging station. With 100% reimbursement, we are able to keep our technology services up to date.

The mission of the Black River Falls Public Library is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment which meets the needs of our community and promotes lifelong learning. 2024 saw an increase in program offerings, which provided opportunies to access a broad range of materials and programs to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Thank you to our Library staff, Library Board, and Friends Group for all they do to make Black River Falls Public Library a welcoming community space for everyone. Library staff are dedicated to meeting the needs of our patrons and ensuring the library’s daily operations run smoothly. We appreciate the Library Board’s guidance and direction to meet the library’s goals each year. We are grateful to our Friends members whose volunteer efforts make additional events and programming possible.
