WorkForce Connections: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

March 5 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

On Tuesday, March 5, from 1:30 – 3 PM, stop by and learn about two programs that provide people 55 (and better) with a variety of opportunities in the community.  You will be able to talk with Kristin Walukas and Amy Larson about these two awesome opportunities!

One is the Foster Grandparent tutoring program that connects people 55 (and better) to children in local schools who need someone to share their talents and gifts with them!  Last school year, our 8 volunteers tutored 307 students and 93% of the children improved.

You do not have to have a degree or be an expert in education.  Workforce Connections provides free training.

Second is the Retired and Senior Volunteer program that connects people aged 55 and older with a variety of volunteer needs in the the community.  We have hundreds of volunteers serving wherever their passions lie, whether they wish to serve in a food pantry, deliver meals, provide transportation, make quilts, work in a non-profit thrift store, help at an animal shelter, school, etc.  If you are looking for a way to help, we can find you the perfect fit!  If you are already volunteering somewhere, let us partner with your site to count your hours and recognize your contributions to the community!
