The Goals of the Jackson County History Room are:

1.  To assist in the collection and preservation of written historical information concerning Jackson County and its people.

2. To disseminate that information to the public for the purpose of enjoyment, education, and research, including genealogical research.

Databases

__ Ancestry Library Edition (in library use only)...claims to be “the largest collection of family history data online.” Over 900 million names can be searched in their extensive free database and premium subscription database. The Black River Falls Public Library currently holds a subscription to the library version of Ancestry.com complete with access to census images for two simultaneous users. Census images include the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. Users must be in the library to use this subscription. The free databases (social security death index, etc.) can be searched using the general Ancestry.com link.
